Online gamblers betting on Castro’s death, report says

Most of the wagers come from people in Miami, the Herald said.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — Betting odds suggest Fidel Castro will die sooner rather than later, according to a report published Thursday.

Those placing $100 on Castro dying this month will reap $350 if he does. The betting site is licensed by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission on the Mohawk Territory of Kahnawake, Canada.

BetCRIS.com, another Web site, is accepting bets on whether Castro will make another live appearance by Aug. 13, his 80th birthday. Those betting $100 he’ll die in December will take home $600 if they’re correct, the report said.

BetUS.com has allowed members to gamble on Castro’s death since last fall, the Miami Herald said. Online gamblers are placing bets on which day or month the 79-year-old Cuban president will die, the Miami Herald’s online edition reported.
